Yellow Kitchen, Minneapolis

The owners wanted a well designed working kitchen, a more open floor plan, and to connect the exising family room to the main level. Three doorways were removed from the kitchen and one new large opening was created to open up the area. New French pocket doors were added to open up the existing rear family room with the dining area. Traditional details were matched with the new renovation and the existing maple floors were refinished. A custom soapstone sink was designed to add a modern yet traditional flavor. The outcome is a very open, traditional feeling with a hint of modern detailing.
